Tales of Labor Activism in the Lone Star State
Chair: Michael Botson, Houston Community College
The two papers in this session represented the growing interest in and knowlege of Texas's working class based on oral histories of the state's labor activists.
Chris Drake, professor at Houston Community College, presented a paper based on his oral history interviews with the late John Henry Faulk.
Veronica Reyna, also a professor at Houston Community College, presented a paper based on her father, Raphael Reyna, chronicling his activism in the San Antonio plumber's union, of which he eventually served as president.
