Learning English Among Friends (LEAF) is a family literacy, English as a second language program which integrates educational activities for parents and students. The LEAF program began with the premise that if parents were literate in English, their children would fare better in school and have increased access to higher education. Waco and LaVega ISD have forged a partnership with Baylor University in providing English as a Second Language classes, computer literacy and G.E.D. classes to limited English speaking adults living in the Waco community.
