This past summer, a group of 18 Baylor Theatre students along with four faculty members participated in a three week study abroad program to Paris, London, and Stratford.
Students took two classes - Playwright Study and Theatre & Christianity. Subject matter corresponded to sights seen and shows attended.
Among the standards, such as the Eiffel Tower and Versailles, the Baylor group experienced theatre in new and exciting ways, such as performances by The Comedie Francaise and Royal Shakespeare Company.
The group also performed ten minute play readings in Paris with an audience talkback afterwards.
Students toured the Royal Shakespeare Company's Courtyard theatre, where they also attended performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Merchant of Venice.
I feel that I'm a better actor, better student, and better person from this experience.

Night by the Eiffel Tower
I loved being with the students in an informal setting. It was great to get to know them all more one-on-one. We spend so much time working in the theatre-working on production, working on classes, etc.-that it is nice to just get to relax and enjoy each other's company. And even though it is not a formal classroom setting, we learned lessons about life, theatre and culture that we could have never learned in a traditional classroom setting.
