Welcome TechPoint Staff! This site contains resources and links to help you serve patrons well from the TechPoint service desk. Visitors? Come see us in Moody Garden Level or call us at 710-TECH (8324).
Communicating "Rules of Use - Checkout Program" to Patrons
Telling patrons about our checkout policy? I recommend:
"The link on the receipt and sign above the printers explains our checkout policy. You are responsible to read it, renew online, return items on time, and pay for late fees or damages."
Library Marketing & Communications has placed two things in the Study Commons: 1. A note board meant to collect info for the library website and 2. Table tent ads for faculty evaluations. (NOTE: these are special exceptions. We do not allow advertising in the Study Commons.)
TechPoint will replace ten staff positions for the Fall 2013 semester. Encourage qualified candidates to submit an application to the Library for employment (baylor.edu/techpoint/hiring). Candidates may also send the application directly to the Study Commons Coordinator. We will also be promoting approximately five current staff to Advanced status.
New Memo Posted
Please check blackboard announcements for a link to a new memo. Read it now if you haven't already.
No More Bearweb Clock Out/In at Midnight
Working a shift while the calendar day changes? You no longer have to fix the timecard manually. Bearweb will automatically add a clock out and clock in to the appropriate days. Cool!
MOM Rooms Available
Baylor Libraries support our new mothers who are working or studying on campus. Two private and comfortable rooms in Moody Library are available for either expressing breast milk or breastfeeding. Rooms are on Moody 2nd floor. Keys available at the circulation desk. More info here.
Zeta Map Posted
By popular request, we have made a flow map of the Zeta collection. You may direct patrons to it on the first tall bookshelf in the Zeta collection. Have a look at it to familiarize yourself with the layout.
Semester Schedule Is Up
ScheduleSource now has the permanent schedule posted for the remainder of the semester. All trades and swaps are permitted. NOTE: All vacation requests have been approved; if you need to be away (Spring Break 2013!), you must swap your shifts, or submit a leave request in ScheduleSource.
(View schedules for all university libraries here.)
