Director, Academic Support Programs
Sally Firmin provides oversight for the courses, workshops, programs, and services implemented through the office of Academic Support Programs. She holds a B. A. (1968) in English/ Biology and a minor in Education from Baylor and an M. A. (1992) in English also from Baylor. She teaches study skills courses and workshops and is an academic advisor. She has been at Baylor since 1992. |

Trish Baum
Resource Coordinator
Trish Baum came to Baylor in 1997, working first with Information Technology Services before moving to Academic Support Programs in 2000. As Resource Coordinator, Trish supervises academic mentors, puts students in contact with the Baylor’s academic resources, and provides one-on-one instruction in academic success strategies for students. Trish earned an AAS in Computer Science from McLennan Community College and a BBA in Business from Tarleton State University. |

Julie Cash
Academic Support Advisor
Julie Cash began working at Baylor in 2004. Julie coordinates the Supplemental Instruction Program and teaches college reading and study skills classes as well as academic improvement workshops. She is also an advisor for students on academic probation and students involved in the Summer Studies Program. Julie earned a B.S. Education and an M.S in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Baylor University. |

Ron English
Academic Support Advisor for Referrals
Ronald English has been at Baylor University since September 1999. He attended Baylor University as an undergraduate and completed his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management in August 1994. He also completed his Master of Divinity at George W. Truett Theological Seminary, Baylor University in December 1999. His duties include contacting students referred by concerned professors, communicating with professors and students, advising students, and teaching learning seminars and courses. He also provides resource contacts to students looking to improve academic performance. |

Academic Support Advisor for Tutoring
Steven Richard has been at Baylor since August of 2008. Steven manages the Success Center’s tutoring program, advises and counsels students and teaches study skill and transition to Baylor courses and workshops. He holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary and Technical Studies from Wayne State University and a M.Ed. in Counseling and Student Affairs from Northern Arizona University. |

Regina Easley-Young
Academic Support Advisor
Regina Easley-Young joined Academic Support Programs in January 2013 after having taught as an adjunct instructor at Baylor in the department of Health Education for seven years. In addition to teaching study skills courses and workshops, her duties include reaching out to students who have been referred by professors and working with students who are on academic probation. Regina holds a B.S. in Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. |

Lisa Jurek
Administrative Associate
Lisa Jurek has been at Baylor since October 2011. Her duties include coordinating everyday office operations for the Academic Support Programs Department and serving as the “point person” to interact with students, parents, faculty and professional staff to help a student access appropriate and/or requested academic support. She also provides assistance and support to the various departments of the PLFSC. |
