About the Foster Success Center
The Foster Success Center consists of five administrative departments, each of which serves a particular student population:
- Academic Advisement – first-year students with selected majors
- Academic Support Programs – provisionally admitted students, students on probation, and students enrolled in historically difficult courses
- Access and Learning Accommodation – students with disabilities
- Career Counseling – students seeking career counseling
- Career Services – students seeking employment and internships
Our Mission
The Paul L. Foster Success Center (PLFSC), charged with advancing the mission of Baylor University, strives to provide the resources and environment that support engagement in the academic community as well as fulfillment of personal goals and aspirations.
Our Goals
Within the context of Baylor 2012, we intend to pursue the following six primary goals:
- To assist selected first-year students in developing academic plans and clarifying personal goals through academic advising.
- To provide academic services to provisionally admitted students, selected students on academic probation, and students enrolled in historically difficult courses that allow them to succeed academically.
- To provide services and accommodations for students with disabilities that enable them to succeed academically.
- To provide career counseling that helps students identify and begin to pursue their career goals.
- To assist students and alumni in the development of life-long career decision-making and job search skills that will enhance their career satisfaction and employment opportunities.
- To support the academic success of all students.
