Location:Bochum has a population of some 400,000 inhabitants and is situated in the Ruhr-area, the economic nerve center of western Germany. It is a very vivid city with a lot of cultural and sportive activities, complemented by the large student population.
Being an industrial town historically, Bochum still has a lot of parks and green spots. The University is located at the border of a little valley, not far from a lake: 'Kemnader See.' The cultural scene in Bochum is quite unique. Bochum has one of Germany's best known theaters and there are various museums.

Housing:Students will live either in a single room or in an apartment. You will need to apply for housing after you are accepted to the university. To see the university's housing page, go HERE.
Application Procedure:Students are first required to be nominated to attend a MAUI-Utrecht program. Email Katie_Erickson@baylor.edu to schedule an interview to be nominated for the program. More information regarding the application process will be given at the interview.

Costs:Expect to spend between 150 and 250 EUROS per month on housing. Meals will cost between 2 to 4 EUROS on campus. You'll spend between 35-50 EUROS per month on books. Total cost estimates per month are around 700 EUROS.
Each student is responsible for their own transportation, including airfare.
