Bearathon Race to Close Some Campus Streets on SaturdayMarch 21, 2014
The following streets on and around the Baylor University campus will be closed on Saturday morning (March 22) due to the running of the annual Bearathon and 5K race:
- 5th Street – will reopen at 8 a.m.
Bagby Avenue – will reopen at 8 a.m.
Baylor Avenue – will reopen at 8:30 a.m.
3rd Street (From Speight to Dutton) – will be closed until 11:30 a.m.
Dutton Avenue – will have one lane available for traffic but will not be completely open until noon
University Parks Drive from Bagby Avenue to Baylor Avenue will remain open, but police officers will be directing traffic with runners given the right of way until 8 a.m.
The Bearathon is a challenging 13.1 mile half-marathon that serves as Student Foundation's main fundraising event each spring. The event also includes a 5K race. For more information, visit http://www.baylor.edu/student_foundation/index.php?id=49828.
