Bagby Avenue To Close Temporarily Between 2nd and 4th StreetsDec. 14, 2012
Beginning Monday, Dec. 17, construction crews will close Bagby Avenue between Second and Fourth streets due to related construction on Baylor University's East Village Residential Community. The closure will occur as crews continue to extend both Third Street and underground utilities from campus to East Village, and re-construct the intersection at Third and Bagby.
Traffic going toward Second Street on Bagby will be detoured to the left on Second and around East Village to Fourth Street. Current access to campus via Speight Avenue and Fourth Street will not change. Bagby Avenue is expected to re-open March 18, 2013.
Officials expect to fully reopen Third Street at the start of the fall 2013 semester as Baylor celebrates the completion of the East Village Residential Community and Dining Commons. Additional updates on construction progress will be provided during the spring semester.
