Researchers in Baylor’s electrical and computer engineering department in the School of Engineering and Computer Science have partnered with GE researchers to create a “microwave”-style device that can count the calories in food. A prototype has been constructed, and researchers are using it to count the calories in mixtures of oil, water and sugar. FOX Sports Southwest's new campaign to promote the network's Texas high school sports programming this fall received an assist from creative students in the Sports Sponsorship and Sales (S3) program in Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business, who presented a winning proposal through a real-life marketing and sponsorship project in the FOX Sports University program. The marketing campaign, “The Future of Football Starts Here,” developed by Baylor students Laura Cade, Alexa Charpentier, Daniel Knight and Collin Simpson, and led by Kirk Wakefield, Ph.D., professor and The Edwin W. Streetman Professor in Retail Management, will be incorporated into the network's high school sports marketing campaign this fall.

Baylor School of Education Students Develop New Bear Habitat Curriculum

WACO, Texas (July 23, 2014) – As many as 20 school groups visit Baylor’s Bear Habitat in one week. And each group receives a guided tour conducted by student members of the Baylor Chamber of Commerce—the official keepers of the live bear mascots. Chamber members have been sharing their bear knowledge with visitors for decades, but when Chamber wanted to develop a more formal program for school groups, they turned to the School of Education for help.
