The Invest North Bay economic development corporation plans to review in detail a presentation made by a group of Baylor MBA students on how to make North Bay, Ontario, Canada, a better community. North Bay Major Al McDonald said the recommendations will be considered by Invest North Bay. McDonald also said the report contains "very logical steps... easy steps to take moving forward" which could effectively put the recommendations on the fast track.

WACO, Texas (April 20, 2016) – Following a unanimous recommendation from the university search committee, Baylor University President and Chancellor Ken Starr today announced the appointment of L. Gregory Jones, Ph.D., senior strategist for leadership education at Duke Divinity School and the Ruth W. and A. Morris Williams Jr. Professor of Theology and Christian Ministry, as executive vice president and provost, effective May 16, 2016. His wife, the Rev. Susan Pendleton Jones, associate dean for ministerial formation at Duke Divinity School, also will join Baylor as senior fellow in the Institute for Faith and Learning.

A new study conducted by Baylor University found that nearly nine of 10 Americans have relied upon healing prayer at some point, praying for others even more than for themselves. Jeff Levin, Ph.D., University Professor of Epidemiology and Population Health in Baylor's Institute for Studies of Religion, revealed an extra, astonishing, finding: "The most surprising finding is that more than a quarter of all Americans have practiced laying on of hands -- and nearly one in five has done so on multiple occasions." When it comes to dealing with illness, most Americans turn to a higher power for help, according to a study by Jeff Levin, Ph.D., M.P.H. University Professor of Epidemiology and Population Health in Baylor’s Institute for Studies of Religion (ISR). The study suggests that outside of belief in God, “there may be no more ubiquitous religious expression in the U.S. than use of healing prayer," Levin said. The study, published in the Journal of Religion and Health, also found that more than one fourth have practiced “laying on of hands” for healing.
