VIDEO LINK INCLUDED: John Wilson, professor and director of The Texas Collection at Baylor University, shows viewers some of the special collections’ holdings, including maps, early postcards of the Waco Suspension Bridge, the archive of Waco native, Baylor and Baylor Law graduate and well-known prosecutor Leon Jaworski (war crimes trials, Warren Commission and Watergate) and the archives of another Waco native, Jules Bledsoe, the first African-American to sing on Broadway. The Texas Collection provides specialized published and primary materials for research into all phases of life in Texas. Wilson’s segment was taped on the Baylor campus as part of C-SPAN’s “2014 Cities Tour,” which highlights cities that are rich with history and have interesting local literary communities. (Lori Fogleman, assistant vice president for Baylor Media Communications, pitched Wilson as a source to C-SPAN producers and facilitated the interview. Fogleman and Terry Goodrich, assistant director of Baylor Media Communications, worked with producers to set up interviews with Baylor authors and experts, as well as with special collections.)

In August, the university and Extreme Networks rolled out the Baylor In-Game App, the first college athletics application to provide instant replays from multiple views to fans, at their seats.
