Outstanding New Organization

The Outstanding New Organization Award seeks to recognize one organization each year that has demonstrated true excellence among its peers within the University community. The Department of Student Activities will determine honorees based upon organizational responses to essay questions and recommendations.

This year, we were honored to present two organizations, Baylor Club Golf and Baylor Chapter of the Society of Plastics Engineers, with this award.

Baylor Club Golf is not only an award winner on campus, but on a national level as well. In the Fall of 2013, the team was invited to the NCCGA National Championship, where the team finished in 3rd place. Just a few short months later, in April of 2014, the team took home the National Championship at this same tournament. Off the greens, the team has also had a lot of success by parterming with several other on-campus organizations as well as building relationships with the local Waco golf community.

The Baylor Chapter of the Society of Plastics Engineers seeks to promote growith of knowledge, skills, and opportunities in the plastics industry. The organization has done incredible things to meet these goals by parteerring with local STEM schools, bringing great speakers to campus, and engaging with industry professionals. Additionally, they were able to send four members to an internationall-recognized confernece, where their president was honored in several capacitities. The organizations hopes to continue to bring recognition to their field and Baylor in the coming months.

Congratulations to both organizations for their outstanding work in the short time they have been chartered!
