"Paws for a Cause" to support Hurricane Victims

Baylor University Student Government today announced the start of "Paws for a Cause," a campaign to raise $25,000 to send to the disaster relief efforts in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. The campaign will begin Wednesday, August 31.

Katie Weiss, Baylor Student Body External Vice President and Chair of the "Paws for a Cause" campaign, said, "Baylor Bears have always risen to the occasion to help people in need and now is no exception. Through this campaign we have an incredible opportunity to help rebuild lives in the Gulf Coast states." Student leaders will solicit donations from the Baylor family as well as the Central Texas community. All Baylor constituencies including students, faculty, staff and alumni will be notified of the online giving options through mass e-mails to be sent out later this week.

A web site has been set up to accept online donations at www.baylor.edu/paws4cause/.

Checks can be made payable to "Bear the Burden-Baylor University" and should be mailed to:
