The Bearathon (Certification pending) course will be slightly modified this year due to ongoing construction in Cameron Park. We are currently getting our temporary course inspected and certified and will be releasing information as we get it!

The 5K Run starts and ends at the same location as the Bearathon and takes participants on a scenic tour of the Baylor University campus. Strollers are also welcome on the 5K!

5K Run - 7:20 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014

The Bearathon course will close at 11 a.m. (18 min./mile pace).

Finisher Premiums

All Bearathon finishers will receive a finishers shirt and a medal and 5K Run finishers will also receive a finishers shirt


Prize money ($300 first place, $200 second place, $100 third place) will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the Baylor student and 40+ Open Bracket (Master's Divison) categories of the Bearathon half marathon race. Overall winners (male and female) of the half marathon will be awarded $500 for first place, $400 for second place, and $300 for third place.

In addition, awards will be mailed to the top three male and female finishers in the following divisions of the Bearathon half marathon race:
Baylor students, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70+.

Additionally, Bearathon has partnered with Virtual Race Bags to produce a 'virtual goodie bag' in an effort to 'go green' and provide additional benefits to our participants. As a participant of this year's event you will receive an email invitation to the Virtual Race Bag prior to the event giving you access to the bag. In the race bag you will find an array of valuable information including our official event guide, exclusive offers, coupons, giveaways and messages from our sponsors.

But wait, there's more! Immediately after the event, the race bag updates to include race results. Now participants will receive another email invitation to visit their 'results bag' and also have a final opportunity to take advantage of the offers and goodies before the bag closes.

Note: We strongly encourage you pick up your bib the day before the race, Friday, March 21st during bib pick-up. They will be available race day morning, however, picking them up on Friday will ensure all race day activities will start on time race-day morning. You will receive all paper materials via this virtual race bag.
