9. Position Description: Reading and Math tutors work in elementary schools within Waco ISD, Connally ISD and LaVega ISD. Some Math tutors may also work in middle and high schools for Waco or LaVega ISD. Additional tutors work with LaVega ISD to assist with high school graduation requirements and to prepare for college admission. Tutoring is needed to help all students from dropping out of school. Will be expected to maintain accurate logs of all time spent with students, help with homework and create activities if the students have no homework. Attend trainings/meetings throughout the semester.
10. Skills Required: Have a passion for helping the Waco community. Great experience for Education and Social Work majors. Must be dependable, punctual and organized, have reliable transportaion.
11. Special Instructions: Must be eligible for the Federal Work-Study program. A Work Study Referral form can be picked up at the Student Financial Aid Office. To apply, you will need to submit a complete application which consists of the following: the CIS-HOT Tutoring Application, the Work-Study Referral form from the Baylor Financial Aid Ofc in Clifton Robinson Tower, one DPS CCH Verification, one Self-Attestation form, one Conflict of Interest form, one Criminal Background Check, one Child Abuse Registry form (must be notarized), and two Letters of Recommendation.
