Development of Strategic Plan Enters Final Stages

April 19, 2012

Dr. Elizabeth DavisIn accordance with the schedule established when we launched our strategic visioning exercise nearly two years ago, we have now concluded the feedback portion of our process. The draft of the vision has been further modified based on the most recent community feedback and a final version of our plan will be voted upon by Baylor Regents at their next meeting, May 11.

We are indebted to all of you, to our faculty, students, staff, alumni, friends, neighbors in the community, and others, who took time to participate in this important process to help us define Baylor's future vision. In all, during the input phase of the process more than 2,000 people gathered in cities around the nation, in planning groups on our campus, and around computers in their own homes and workplaces to inform the initial draft. During the recent four month feedback period there have been more than 15,000 visits to the strategic planning web site resulting in valuable and critical refinements to our new vision. What we have produced reflects the very best thinking of so many who love Baylor and wish to see our University prosper, both now and in the future.

The implementation of our new vision is expected to officially begin on June 1, 2012. Please refer to the strategic planning website for additional information after the meeting of Baylor Regents next month.

Thank you.

Elizabeth Davis,
Executive Vice President and Provost
