Why Statistics?

When I was little, I loved to draw tables filled with random numbers. I would sit there and make pie or bar graphs for a whole day as my own entertainment. Thanks to my mum, I grew up with all those statistical diagrams and data. Although I chose Mathematics as my undergraduate major and continued to study Mathematics for my Masters degree, my fondness of Statistics has never faded. The best answer to making good use of all the skills I've learned in Mathematics is Statistics. I believe I have finally found the right way for myself and this is where I should be.

Why Baylor?

I am not from the US and I am even not a Christian. But Baylor still welcomed me as one of her family and helped me achieve academic success and became a better person. As an international student far from home, it is a lie to say I didn't miss home at all. But Baylor has always had the ability to minimize the nostalgic desire, and make me feel at home. Academically, the research atmosphere is simple, restrained and harmonious in style, without constant pressure and stress. Due to the small class size, students are able to communicate with their professor personally and get attention individually.

Faculty:

All the professors are friendly and accessible; they really care about each student.
