Staff Council Debrief - March and April 2008

This is the Staff Council debrief that summarizes the meetings on March 4 and April 8, 2008.

Vice-Chair Susie Johnston presided at the meeting in March. Chair John Lowe presided at the meeting in April. Carolyn Muska acted as Secretary for both meetings.

In March, Jaffus Hardrick and Shannon Lackmeyer presented information from Human Resources and solicited feedback about the services provided by the department. The Council approved a resolution requesting that photos be included in Baylor's online directory, passed a motion to begin the process of creating a Staff Endowed Scholarship fund, and heard a report from the newly appointed Treasurer.

In April, the Council preceded its regular meeting with a special work session to hear a report from Parking Services and to provide feedback about their recommendations. Pattie Orr, Vice President for Information Technology and Dean of Libraries, attended the Staff Council meeting. She presented information about sustainability efforts around campus and adding staff photos to the online directory. The staff also heard committee reports on the spring service project, STEPP luncheon, membership, staff endowed scholarship, and constitution and by-laws revisions.
