2009 Feed the Hungry

Food for Families is the 2009 Fall Service project for Staff Council. We are looking for great participation from the Baylor community at large.

The collection of non-perishable food items will begin on Monday, October 19th and end on Thursday, November 19th. On Friday, November 20th, all food items should be delivered to the Physical Plant dock prior to 12:00 PM (the noon hour).

Volunteers are needed at Caritas on Friday, November 20th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM to help organize the collected food. There will be a sign-up sheet at the November Staff Council Meeting.

Caritas is hosting a competition to see who can collect the most food determined by weight. An award will be presented to the winner of the each classification at a special ceremony in January, 2010. Classifications are based on the type of business and number of employees. The Chairperson's Cup Trophy will be awarded to the entrant with the most total pounds collected overall.

Should you need to empty your collection box prior to Friday, November 20th, please contact Lawrence Davis at the Physical Plant, ext. 3541. He has agreed to store food items for us as needed. Cardboard boxes are provided by the Physical Plant for collections.
