Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The Office of Spiritual Life will be offering a Taize Prayer Service, Tuesday, October 29th, at two times - from 11:30-12:00 or 12:30 to 1:00 pm in the Spiritual Life Center Chapel. As you may know, Taize is a monastery in southern France whose simple chant-like approach to singing and prayer has impacted Christian worship around the world. The experience is contemplative in nature as scripture is sung and sung until the "singing becomes serene" as the brothers at Taize express it. Those of you who have experienced it know just how powerful and peaceful it can be.

The service will be led by Dr. Burt Burleson, University Chaplain, and Carlos Colon, Coordinator of Worship Initiatives and a Resident Scholar at the Institute for Studies of Religion.
