What's that one thing that led you to be a part of Spiritual Life?
When I look back on my own experience in college, I am overwhelmed by just how much transformation took place in my life during that time.  I think about the friends I made, the professors who broadened my perspective, and the ministers who spoke deeply into my life.  I want to be that for someone else, I want to care deeply for students the same way that I was cared for.

What is your favorite part of working at Baylor?
Whether it’s serving the marginalized in Rwanda, spending a week at the ecumenical community of Taizé, or chatting over a cup of coffee, I have the opportunity everyday to walk alongside students during their time in college. Everyday I get to guide students as they wade into the unknown, learn more about themselves, and discover who it is that we are all truly created to be: persons in relationship with God and with others, who are actively engaged in the world.

What book or books are you reading right now?
Seven Storey Mountain – Thomas Merton
A Community Called Taizé – Jason Bryan Santos
From Paris to the Moon – Adam Gopnik

What book or books have most influenced your spiritual growth?
The Naked Now & Everything Belongs – Fr. Richard Rohr

The Giver – Lois Lowry

Eating Animals – Jonathan Safran Foer

Why have you chosen to work specifically with students?
Students are more open to new ideas and it’s an amazing opportunity to facilitate experiences that can be part of their formation.

What is the best movie you've seen in the past year?
I went to the midnight viewing/double feature of HP 7.1 & 7.2… my life was changed.

What is your favorite movie of all time and why?
With Honors – it stars Joe Pesci, what other reason do you need?

When you go to your coffee house of choice, what do you order?
at Starbucks – Grande Iced Coffee, sweetened with room

at Common Grounds – either a Dark Roast Cowboy, Caballero or Soy Boy… it depends on my mood.

Also, I’m always down for a good Chai, but not many places do them well.

Do you have a pet (s)? What are they and what are their names?
a Beagle named Karis

What is under the topic "most played" on your ipod?
Counting Crows, Nickel Creek, the Avett Brothers, Guster, Mumford & Sons, the Swell Season, and Ryan Adams

What is favorite place to go in Waco?
Cameron Park – a run on the trails is the best remedy for stress

What is the craziest or most-unique job you have ever had?
my first job was the Full-Service gas station attendant… I literally got tipped with nickels by sweet little old ladies all day.

If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
put me on a plane and surprise me… anywhere will do.
