Keynote Speaker: Amy Sherman
Dr. Amy L. Sherman directs the Center on Faith in Communities at the Segamore Institute and is a Senior Fellow with the Institute for the Study of Religion at Baylor University. She is the founder and former executive director of Charlottesville Abundant Life Ministries in Virginia. Sherman is the author of six books with works also appearing in numerous periodicals. Since 2005 she has served as a Senior Fellow with the International Justice Mission, a Christian human rights agency that rescues victims of violence, sexual exploitation, slavery, and oppression.
Dr. Sherman received her undergraduate degree from Messiah College and her Ph.D. in foreign affairs/economic developement from the University of Virginia. Her life verse is Micah 6:8--He has show you, O man, what is good, and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God. She is a leading national expert on charitable choice has served as an advisor to the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
