While encouraging students to participate in church-based mission trips, Baylor is offering discipline-specific missions as a expression of our identity as a Christian university. We want to create opportunities for students to understand & utilize their God-given gifts & abilities in serving others and spreading the love of Christ.
Faculty & staff-led teams from various disciplines at Baylor create ways for students to explore what it looks like to serve God by using the skills & expertise from their major & field. Participating in discipline-specific teams also often allows students to have even more to offer as they serve in international settings. Students also greatly benefit from learning & serving alongside professionals in their respective fields, & this experience can help shape a student's view of their own future of service and ministry.
During the 2009-2010 school year, Baylor is planning mission projects in Brazil, New Mexico, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Ghana, Greece, Honduras, Kenya, Rwanda, & Uganda. Each is a unique program with its own advantages.
We hope you'll explore these opportunities & begin praying about where God would have you to go this year. Applications are due January 29, 2010, so begin praying and discussing these opportunities with family now so that you can make a decision after the Christmas break.
