Waco Tribune-Herald The university was preparing for an NCAA facility check Friday afternoon, but some preparations for the main court -- like applying NCAA floor decals -- won't be done by then, said Doyle Shirley BSED '95, assistant director of events and facilities for Baylor athletics. Around him, about a dozen workers from a local labor contracting company were setting up tables and room dividers throughout the facility, which will serve as a media and hospitality center for the tournament.
CSN Washington Fellow Baylor alums Senator Kirk Watson and Representative Diane Patrick, BA '66 Elementary Education, hosted Robert Griffin III during RG3 at the State Capitol, where Griffin acknowledged the importance of being a positive role model and saluted the Texas legislature for setting that example.
Waco Tribune-Herald Baylor graduates Jake Dahms and Tyler Bull, BSED '12, have created a new business in Waco called Sic'em Delivery that serves the Baylor campus and downtown Waco businesses with deliveries from local restaurants or grocery stores for a fee.
Ms. Sunny Wells has been named as the recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award for Fall 2012 at Baylor University. Ms. Wells is a SOE graduate student instructor in the School Of Education and a doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Teaching. Her nomination for this award was based upon the recommendations of faculty and students in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Wells earned this honor because of her record of excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students at Baylor University.
