Baylor football players Cyril Richardson, Ahmad Dixon, Antwan Goodley, and Spencer Roth -- all students in the Baylor School of Education's Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation (HHPR) -- have earned All-America honors. Also honored was quarterback Bryce Petty, a master's candidate in HHPR. Richardson is well on his way to earning unanimous All-America status, after having been on eight All-America teams. Petty was also 2013 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in mid-December.

Paul GordonDr. Paul Gordon, who joined the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation as chair in fall 2013, has been listed as the No. 6 expert in the country on resistance training. The ranking came from ExpertScape, a group that uses a weighting technique to measure academic research publication on biomedical topics. Dr. Gordon came to Baylor, from the University of Michigan, with 20 years of experience in academia and medicine and has been principal or co-investigator on several National Institute of Health funded projects.

Robert Duron has been named associate executive director of District Services for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). Robert holds the EdD degree from Baylor's School of Education.

Various ceremonial events held at the final game in Floyd Casey Stadium on Saturday had School of Education Alumni helping to permanently turn out the lights on the stadium: Don Trull, BA '64, Walter Abercrombie, MSED '92 BSED '86, Senior Cyril Richardson and Bears Quarterback Bryce Petty BSED '13 and presently Master's Candidate in Health, Human Performance and Recreation. Baylor men's basketball player Cory Jefferson has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week, as voted on by a panel of media members and announced Monday by the conference office. Jefferson, a senior in Baylor's School of Education, becomes the eighth player in BU history to earn this honor multiple times.
