Research Interests:
Dr. McCall was an educator in the K-12 educational system as recently as 2011 and is a strong proponent of public and private school education and pre-service teacher education. She is interested in the instructional effectiveness of current secondary science education, pre-service and in-service teacher professional development, and the support and mentoring of pre-service and in-service secondary teachers.

Philosophy:
The 21st century is an exciting time in education for both students and teachers at all levels. Colleges of education are in a unique position to mold and prepare teachers for a profession in the world of education that will change at a pace never before witnessed. Teacher preparation must include not only content preparation and pedagogy but preparation for rapid paced change in how content is delivered, how students learn, and how schools are structured. The skills of critical thinking, data-based decision making, and collaborative research and planning are more important now than ever as schools change to accommodate and prepare all students to be life-long learners and informed citizens of an international society. I am excited to be in a position to contribute to that preparation and believe that public and private school K-12 education is the driving force for positive national and global change. At Baylor this contribution includes the commitment to our faith, our dedication of service to others, and the goal of preparing the next generation of teachers.
