Among the objectives of Baylor University, none is
considered more important than the education of individuals to fulfill the
numerous roles within our education systems. The Department of Curriculum and
Instruction faculty are committed to the development of qualified educators for
these important educational leadership positions. The Department offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
The undergraduate programs lead to initial teacher certification. These programs include
Middle Grades Mathematics Education,
Secondary English Language Arts,
Secondary Mathematics, Secondary Science (Life Science, Physical Science and Science)
English as a Second Language
Additionally, the Department offers a Secondary Education Minor and supports programs in Business Education, Gifted and Talented Education and Elementary Special Education.
Graduate programs within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction prepare individuals for various leadership roles within the education profession at both the pre-kindergarten through grade twelve and university levels. Degrees offered include MA, MSEd, EdD and PhD. The Department also has a unique initial teacher certification program, Strickland Scholars, which leads to both teacher certification and an MSEd.
