Dean Search Committee Begins Interview Process

DeanSign-ThumbThe search committee seeking a dean for the Baylor School of Education has entered a new phase of the process, according to the latest update. “The process has reached the point where the committee has begun to hold preliminary, confidential, face-to-face interviews with a group of potential candidates,” committee chair Dr. Michael Matier wrote in an update dated Jan. 13. Diane Ravitch to Speak at Baylor

Diane Ravitch ThumbDr. Diane Ravitch, controversial former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Education, will lecture at Baylor University on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 6 p.m. in the Jones Concert Hall of the Glennis McCrary Music Building. Her appearance is part of the Academy for Leader Development Lecture Series and the School of Education Distinguished Lecture Series. In the 1990s Ravitch led federal efforts to promote standardized testing, teacher accountability and school choice. But in 2010, she abandoned those ideas and now decries the rampant testing culture.
