Outstanding Graduate Instructor for Fall 2010
Congratulations to Andrew Whitehead! He was selected as the recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award for Fall 2010. He was awarded this distinction at the November Council for Graduate Program Directors.

Andrew has taught the Sociology 3361 Extreme Deviance course for several semesters. His current research interests include religion, policy issues, and organizations. His research agenda includes examinations of attitudes toward same-sex unions and the perceived etiology of homosexuality as well as the effects of small group involvement inside congregations. His master's thesis investigated religion's effect on attitudes toward the etiology of homosexuality and same-sex unions. He is currently working on his Ph.D. in Sociology of Religion.
