Agency Mission/Services:
The family of Fredericksburg Baptist Church is on mission together, striving to continue the work of Christ. Building upon a distinguished heritage, the church actively seek to minister to the changing needs of our community of faith and of our world. They commit themselves to this task through worship, witness, fellowship, and services. Current ministries of Fredericksburg Baptist Church include a weekly community meal to assist improverished individuals and families in our community, assistance with resettlement and assimiliation of refugee families, involvement with Micah Ecumencial Ministries and basic care for those who are chronically homeless, ministries with special friends and silent friends, and other community involvement as there are needs.

MSW Concentration: Students will engage in current community outreach and ministry opportunities that may include wotk with Micah Ecumenical Ministries and individuals who are chronically homeless, refugee families, and development of current ministries in the church.

Desired Qualifications:
Interns should be practicing Christian believers who are interested in community development, advocacy, cross-cultural experiences, and ministry in a church setting. Interns should be flexible and able to easily adapt to immediate needs that may arise; able to instigate needed action as they assess, and determine needs; passionate about community work and engaging a congregation in the ministry being done.

Agency Hours:
24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Training Required:
Request that intern make a visit to Fredericksburg during the fall semester to get an initial feel for the ministries of the church before committing to make a re-location to engage as an intern.
