Waco Community Development helps to inspire and cultivate healthy neighborhoods. Waco CDC considers a healthy neighborhood to be one that is safe, clean, and diverse; one in which it makes economic sense for people to invest and one where neighbors manage change successfully. Waco CDC helps support long term change in communities through four different components: Housing, Financial Education and Counseling, Community Engagement and Parental Involvement. The latter two programs are led by the community organizers who work with three elementary schools working with families on leadership development skills, working with churches, businesses, neighborhood associations, and individuals to see the communities in East and North Waco thrive.
