Agency Mission/Services:
Waco Community Development revitalizes neighborhoods by promoting housing, community and economic development throughout Waco. To build neighborhoods, WCD partners with key stakeholders to execute five key programs. Together, we work to RENEW Waco.
Renovate historic and construct new single-family homes.
Equip families to become homeowners through homebuyer education and finanical literacy classes.
Neighborhood service projects through community collaboration.
Encourage and support economic development in the neighborhood.
Work with community leaders to strengthen their neighborhood.

Opportunities:
Community organizing (i.e., working with parents, teachers, churches, and community leaders to strengthen neighborhood schools). Community development (e.g., working with community stakeholders to develop a Neighborhoods Revitalization Strategy).

Desired Qualifications:
These internships are open to people who desire a placement that combines micro, mezzo, and macro social work skills on a macro scale. This internship needs someone who is willing to cross cultural/racial lines, a self-starter, and engage in high quality work. These are paid internships (i.e., a stipend or Federal Work Study).
