Culture and Identity
Faith-based organizations and congregations that responded to the survey answered a series of questions that led our team to develop two scales – Faith Culture and Faith Identity. The questions asked about the primary motivation, role of religion in their mission statement, and founding and program goals for each type of group. They also were asked the ways faith shapes their hiring practices and program content, and the importance of spiritual change in measuring a program's success. Based on their responses, individuals tests were conducted with the data, and two scales were created that measured what came to be known as their faith identity and faith culture.
