When a student is enrolled at Baylor University they will have a Baylor student account on which all charges and payments will be recorded. The Baylor student account number is the student's unique Baylor ID number.
Release of InformationThe Family Education Right and Privacy Act (FERPA) generally prohibits information released from financial and educational records without the student's consent except in a limited number of circumstances.
Adding an Authorized User is your written consent that an individual may view your account information and make payments on your behalf. In addition, per federal regulations, if a parent uses tax information to help a dependent -i.e. filling out the FAFSA,-financial information can be shared with that particular parent. If you need to give consent for a person who cannot be set up as an Authorized User because they do not have an email address, you can instead submit a Release of Information consent form in BearWeb. Go to BearWeb >Student Financial Services >Student Account >Add New Information Student Accounts/Billing Release Consent Form and enter the requested information to give Baylor consent to discuss the student's account with the designated person.
