Help Us Affirm Baylor SACS-cess!

The SACS Task Force and the SACS committees are hard at work. We are grateful for this collective effort, and we look forward to showcasing our university to the SACS reviewers next year. In order to keep on schedule, we need your help to meet several approaching deadlines.

The new accreditation standards are a positive change in that they encourage us to reflect upon the connections between our daily work and the overall goals of Baylor University. The reaffirmation criteria are predicated upon a commitment to integrity and quality enhancement. Such principles resonate particularly well at Baylor, and we look forward to working together on this important project.

Academic Assessment Plans -- Due Sept. 30, 2005

Revisions of academic assessment plans from each department are due Sept. 30. Faculty should focus on the "learning outcomes" and "methods of assessment" sections of the assessment plans. All final assessment reports are due Dec. 20, 2005. For more information, click here, and to access the 2005-06 assessment template, click here. If you have questions, please e-mail Robyn Driskell.

Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) ideas -- Due Nov. 1, 2005

If you've ever wanted an opportunity to have direct input on students' learning experience at Baylor, the QEP is your chance. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to submit their ideas by Nov. 1. You recently received a separate e-mail about this project, which you can view at the QEP Web site, or e-mail any questions to Tiffany Hogue.

Faculty Credentials

Baylor is required to document every person who teaches at Baylor. This process entails matching credentials to courses taught, collecting transcripts and providing curriculum vitaes to our SACS reviewers. Please ensure your vita is current. We'll be communicating information about the vitae submission process in the near future. If you have questions, please e-mail Gina Green.

Administrative Assessment Plans

Thank you to those departments that have submitted 2004-05 assessment reports. Information about 2005-06 deadlines will be forthcoming. For more information, click here, or e-mail any questions to Van Gray.
