New Employee Safety Orientation
Each new Baylor employee goes through a program known as the Workplace Orientation and Welcome, or simply WOW, during their first week of employment. This program lasts from 8am to 12pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with the afternoons spent on the job. This program, provided through the office of Human Resources, covers a number of topics about Baylor University, including its history, campus, policies, programs, etc. For more information on the WOW program, visit their website.
The New Employee Safety Orientation consists of a one to one and a half hour presentation by a member of the Department of Risk Management on many important environmental, health and safety issues. By no means will this program cover every subject applicable to the working environment here at Baylor, however, it will provide a background of information that will introduce many ideas, policies, and procedures to hopefully get new employees thinking and working safely in their respective areas.
