Research Equipment Acquisition Program

The Research Equipment Acquisition Program is designed to enhance the ability of faculty to retire and replace research equipment necessary to sustain an established research program.

Funds will be awarded to an individual researcher or group of researchers to support efforts to garner external funding, promote multidisciplinary research/creative activities and stimulate research development.

REAP fund requests may range from $25,001 to $35,000 to the OVPR and require a 1 to 1 matching of funds by the Principal Investigator (PI) from F&A, departmental / center / institute funds or college / school funds. This provides a total funding range of $50,002 to $70,000 for each project.

Full-time Baylor faculty members with at least ten years of full-time, faculty employment at Baylor, regardless of academic rank, may apply for a REAP grant.

The PI must exhibit a long-term external research funding record showing continued success.

REAP proposals are accepted continuously.

Proposals received prior to March 1 will be eligible for funding in the current fiscal year. Proposals received after that date will be eligible for funding in the following fiscal year.
