The Office of Research Advancement (ORA) helps faculty members strengthen their grant proposals by providing writing assistance and support through the Proposal Development Program (PDP).
The PDP consists of three components:
Grant Writing Seminars - annual seminars to help faculty develop strategies and skills in grant writing. In addition to sessions on general grant writing, there are also specific sessions on early investigator career awards like the NSF CAREER program and the NIH K awards.
Writing and Editorial Assistance - allows faculty access to ORA staff who provide writing and editorial assistance to strengthen their grant proposals.
Proposal Development Award - a competitive award that allows faculty to receive structured individualized consultation delivered over a period of 8 to 9 months.
The Grant Writing Seminars and Proposal Development Awards are provided by an outside consultant with extensive experience in successfully competing for external research funding from federal agencies, private foundations and other sponsors.
To learn more about these services, review the PDP Guidelines.
