Office of the Vice Provost for Research
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research assists faculty members from all academic units in identifying, obtaining
and managing the funding needed to support their research and scholarship. Internal 'seed' funding, matching grant
proposal funding, searchable online funding databases, grant writing seminars, proposal support and travel awards to
national funding agencies are only a few of the services provided to the faculty by the Office of the VPR.
The VPR also acts as Baylor's representative in pursuing partnerships and collaborative agreements with entities outside
the university. The office negotiates sponsored research agreements on behalf of faculty and pursues technology transfer
and licensing opportunities with industry. The Office of the VPR welcomes the opportunity to discuss collaborative research
and scholarship pursuits that can advance the academic mission of Baylor University.
Office of Sponsored Programs
Baylor's Office of Sponsored Programs assists faculty in acquiring research funding from sources outside the
university and administers all funded projects and programs. OSP is the central point of coordination for sponsored
projects and is the university's representative for grants, contracts and other research agreements with governmental
and private sector funding organizations.
Office of Research Compliance
The Baylor Office of Research Compliance—in coordination with related committees, offices and departments—monitors all
university research activity to ensure that it is conducted in accordance with all applicable governmental regulations
and funding organization guidelines.
Office of Technology Commercialization and Industry Engagement
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Committee on Technology and Commercialization work together with researchers
to identify, protect and disclose innovative discoveries and to coordinate the roles of all participants in the technology
