The OVPR maintains an institution-wide subscription to Pivot, a database of funding opportunities and researcher profiles.
Users can search Pivot for relevant funding opportunities in their disciplines from a wide range of federal agencies, private
foundations, professional societies and more. Pivot also allows users to save searches and receive weekly email updates with
newly listed opportunities.
Another useful component of Pivot is its researcher profiles. Once a user establishes a profile, Pivot will provide suggested
funding opportunities based on key words from the user’s research interests, prior publications, etc. Information in the profile
is user-editable, but most faculty members already have profiles automatically created by Pivot using information drawn from p
ublicly available sources like department websites.
To get started with Pivot, visit their website at http://pivot.cos.com and click “Sign up” in the upper-right corner of the page.
The site will guide you through the process of establishing your account and creating a profile (or claiming one if it has been automatically generated).
