L. Joseph Achor, Ph.D. has served as Chair of the National Committee to Establish a National Honor Society in Neuroscience for the last several years. The culmination of this work will be the beginning of Nu Rho Psi of which the Baylor chapter will be a founding member.

Helen E. Benedict had her 1979 Journal of Child Language article "Early lexical development: comprehension and production" selected for inclusion in Cognitive Development: Critical Concepts in Psychology from Cambridge University Press.

Frisch, M.B. (2006). Quality of Life Therapy: Applying a Life Satisfaction Approach to Positive Psychology and Cognitive Therapy, Wiley and Sons, Hoboken, NJ.

Graham, D.L. & Diaz-Granados, J.L. (2006). Periadolescent exposure to ethanol and diazepam alters the aversive properties of ethanol in adult mice. Pharmacology, Biochemistry, and Behavior, 84, 406-414.

R.B. Helfand (graduate student), A.W. Zalud, and J.L. Diaz-Granados presented "Taurine Attenuates Ethanol Withdrawal-induced Anxiety on the Elevated Plus Maze" at the 29th Annual Meeting of the Research Society on Alcoholism in Baltimore, Maryland.

David Herman (graduate student) and N. Bradley Keele, Ph.D. presented "Hyperpolarization-activated current in neurons of the rat lateral nucleus of the amygdala modulates excitability. " at the National Institute of Mental Health Predoctoral Research Festival in Bethesda, MD. Mr. Herman received a substantial travel award from the NIH to attend this meeting.

N. Bradley Keele, Ph.D. once again directed the Baylor Brain Bowl Team which successfully defended the title of Texas Brain Bowl Champions for the fifth straight year. Michael Dyer, Lorena Maili, Megan Uhelski and Aaron Chaloner made up this year's Brain Bowl team who defeated The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas at San Antonio to claim the top spot.

Wade Rowatt, Ph.D. had his 2004 International Journal for the Psychology of Religion article "Christian orthodoxy, religious fundamentalism, and right-wing authoritarianism as predictors of implicit racial prejudice" selected for inclusion in Readings in Social Psychology from Allyn & Bacon.

Matthew S. Stanford, Ph.D. was named a Fellow in the Association for Psychological Science for his sustained outstanding contribution to the science of psychology.
