Undergraduate Studies
The Department of Psychology & Neuroscience offers three undergraduate and two graduate degrees. The graduate programs include a nationally ranked Psy.D. in clinical psychology and a Ph.D. in psychology. In terms of undergraduate degrees, we offer a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in psychology, the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in psychology and the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in neuroscience. Information on the course requirements for the various degrees is available in the Degree Requirements section of this website, along with information about the career paths that each degree provide.
The essential difference between the B.A and B.S. degree is that the B.A. degree has a greater emphasis in the humanities, whereas, the B.S. has a greater emphasis in science and mathematics. Around 85% of our current majors pursue the B.A. degree. Rather than being degree specific, graduate and professional schools look closely at your overall academic performance and career-related experiences in making admissions decisions.
Many of the questions you have about our degree programs can be answered by reviewing the Frequently Asked Questions page. If you have additional questions, don't hesitate to contact the department for clarification.
