Blackboard Orientation Sessions for Your Students
Baylor’s Electronic Library will conduct Blackboard orientation seminars for students during the first two weeks of classes (August 24-28 and August 31-September 4) on the Garden Level of Moody Memorial Library in Room G32 at Noon, 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. These 50-minute seminars will cover Blackboard basics as well as address specific tasks that often prove difficult for students. Seminar attendance is first-come, first-served, so students do not have to sign up in advance. Each student who completes Blackboard orientation will receive a certificate of completion. Please encourage students who are not familiar with Blackboard to attend one of these orientation sessions and reclaim class time you use for Blackboard instruction. If you require this orientation as part of your course, please remember to allow students the full two weeks of the term to complete this requirement since space per session is limited to 30 seats.
Office of Spiritual Life
An Opportunity from the Office of Spiritual Life
Noon PrayersBeginning on Tuesday after Labor Day (the 8th) we will be returning to our practice of Noon Prayer at the Spiritual Life Center. Each day at 12:00 o'clock, someone from our staff will be leading a brief and reverent service of prayer, which will involve some simple readings, a time to remember the needs of the Baylor family, and occasionally some singing. The services last about ten to fifteen minutes and our hope is that faculty, staff, and graduate students will make at least one of these services a part of the week's rhythm.
I hope to see you soon at noon prayers and please do pass this on to your friends and colleagues.
