Baylor Students, Faculty and Staff:

It's Homecoming Week … My first as President of Baylor University! What an exciting time to be on campus, especially now that a little fall is in the air. Many of our students and alumni have asked for some Homecoming "must-dos" since there are so many activities over the next several days. Here's a quick top-5 list as I take a break from the Board of Regents meeting today:

  1. Attending Mass Meeting to better learn the story of the Immortal Ten. Tonight, 10 p.m., Ferrell Center
  2. Seeing last year's best Sing acts at Pigskin Revue. Tonight through Saturday, various times, Waco Hall
  3. Worshipping alongside Bears of all generations at Singspiration. Friday, 7 p.m., Seventh and James Baptist Church
  4. Taking a selfie in front of the Bonfire as part of Extravaganza. Friday, 7-10 p.m., Fountain Mall
  5. Attending the historic Homecoming parade. Saturday, 8:30 a.m., 5th Street on campus

And, of course, it's a given we'll all be cheering on the Bears against West Virginia at 7 p.m. Saturday at McLane Stadium. You may also want to check out men's basketball's charity exhibition game against Houston at noon Saturday, with proceeds going to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

For more Homecoming history, be sure to pick up the latest copy of Baylor Magazine that takes a look at 11 icons and traditions that have come to symbolize, celebrate and unite generations of Baylor students and alumni.

I hope to see you on campus over the next several days, wearing your green and gold. Chairman Joel Allison and I will have an update from the Board of Regents meeting for you early next week.

Sic' em, Bears!

Linda A. Livingstone, Ph.D.
President
