SWURP Concentration - Neurology

NEUROLOGY

Conduct state-of-the-art translational research, with scientific interests including drug and device trails. Includes a collaborative team of basic and clinical researchers in Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurology, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and Radiology. The Neuroscience Institute is home to an invasive human brain chemistry and electrophysiology and neuromodulation lab. Neurology research focuses on understanding disorders of the human nervous system that impact such functions as movement, cognition, or sensation. Numerous opportunities for neurology related research are available depending on what projects are active at the time of application. Examples of such projects include research into health related quality of life in movement disorders, cognitive disorders, and brain tumor growth and advancement.
