Baylor Students to Perform at Annual Dean's Honor Concert

Baylor University's School of Music will present the annual Dean's Honor Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, in Roxy Grove Hall on the Baylor campus.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will showcase 14 of the School of Music's most talented musicians.
Pianists Cameron Hofmann, Stephen Morris and John Elam will perform.
Percussionists Logan Dean, Michal Nelson, Aaron Krouse and Aaron Menke will play the third movement from Steve Reich's Mallet Quartet.

Violinist Oiyao Yang will perform Camille Saint-Saëns' Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Op. 28.

Baritone Barron Rice will sing "Chanson à boire" from Maurice Ravel's Don Quichotte à Dulcinée and "Tanzlied des Pierrot" from Erich Korngold's Die tote Stadt.

Celeste Johnson will play Ludwig van Beethoven's first movement from his Piano Sonata No. 23.

Trumpeter Chelsea Orr will perform Sonatine by Jean Françaix and "Einst träumte meiner sel'gen Base" from Carl Maria von Weber's opera Der Freischütz. Soprano Elizabeth Johnson will accompany her.

Pianist John Elam will play "Black Notes" from Notes Etude, an original work by student composer Jim Simmons.

Clarinetist Eric Williams will conclude the evening with Luigi Bassi's Fantasia Concerto on Themes from "Rigoletto."
