The show will feature competition between fraternities and sororities from Baylor and other universities. Prize money will be awarded to the first-and second-place winners from the men's and women's divisions.

This year also will feature host Maurice Kain Carter, a comedian who has gained popularity by posting videos on his YouTube channel, which now has more than 2 million views.
Alpha Phi Alpha began hosting Battle on the Burning Sands in 2005. Each year Alpha Phi Alpha invites a celebrity guest host. Past celebrities include Big Tigga, former host of 106 & Park: BET's Top 10 Live; Fonzworth Bentley, who has been seen on MTV shows, including Making the Band 2; and Shawty, who has been featured on shows like Wild'n Out and BET Comic View.
Baylor's Alpha Phi Alpha chapter was officially chartered, becoming the 796th House of Alpha, on Aug. 1, 1993. The chapter received its Baylor charter and became the first black Greek-letter fraternity in the history of Baylor on Oct. 17, 1993.
