Distinguished Professor Will Speak to Baylor University Community in Religion Lecture Series

Dr. Michael Northcott, professor of ethics at the University of Edinburgh, will present "The Complexity of Simplicity: Justice, Temperance and Economic Sustainability in a Debt-Based Economy" at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, in Miller Chapel as a part of the Baylor University department of religion's public lecture series.

Northcott's teaching concentrations are in Christian ethics, ecology and religion, the global economy and theology and the ethics of technology. He has served in a Church of England parish in Manchester and as a faculty member at Seminari Theologi Malaysia and New College of Oxford University in England and has supervised 25 doctoral students while at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom.
