Baylor Nursing School Lecturer Earns Award

Dr. Claudia Calle Beal, a lecturer at Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing in Dallas, is the recipient of the Outstanding Graduating Ph.D. Student Award at the University of Texas School of Nursing in Austin.
Claudia received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from Columbia University in New York City and her master's degree with a specialization in nurse-midwifery at Emory University in Atlanta.
While at the University of Texas, she was a graduate research assistant for a study on the Health Promotion for Women with Fibromyalgia Syndrome. She collaborated with several faculty to publish eight articles and present at seven conferences.
In addition to the requirements for her doctorate, she completed an Integrated Scholarly Portfolio: Women and Gender Studies, Women and Health Specialization. Claudia is a manuscript reviewer for the Archives of Psychiatric Nursing. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society in Nursing, the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, the Southern Nursing Research Society and the American Association of Rehabilitation Nurses.
