Baylor University Professor Named Kronzer Endowed Professor in Family Studies

Dr. Dennis Myers, former associate dean of graduate studies at Baylor University's School of Social Work, will be installed as The Dorothy Barfield Kronzer Endowed Professor in Family Studies during an event from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, in the SBC Theater in the Mayborn Museum.

Myers will give a lecture on "Multigenerational Family Life in the Longevity Revolution." A reception will follow.

Myers previously served as director of the Master of Social Work program and baccalaureate program in social work, as well as the Civic Education Program at Baylor. Myers serves on the Board of Stilwell Retirement Center and the North Central Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

Myers is a licensed social worker and advanced clinical practitioner and is certified as a supervisor of licensed professional counselors. He is the principal investigator for a geriatric curriculum enrichment grant funded by the Hartford Foundation and the Council on Social Work Education. He also is a recipient of the grant award, "Service and Faith: The Impact on Christian Faith and Congregational Life of Organized Community Caring," funded by Lilly Endowment.

The lecture and reception are open to the Baylor community.
